The atmosphere here is so cozy and cute. Log cabin style. The service is good too.
But the food is delicious. We are not polish, so we are not familiar with all the ethic food here but everything we tried was so good. I had the potato pancakes with the pork stew.
Huge portions. My husband had the pork shank.
Soup is great, fresh bread served with very fattening bacon grease, yes very good! Polish beers served on tap also. If you want a cozy winter place to go, this is your place! The best " Home " cooking We ate a variety of foods The bread and butter melted in my mouth.
I had meatballs and cabbage rolls, both excellent. The portios are ample. The menu is printed in Polish but an English version is available. There is a bar with a nice selection of beer and wine. Carry out is also an option.
Order ahead and pick up on your way home. I will definitely return for another meal. I wanted to try this place so we went around on a Sunday afternoon for an early dinner. The place was packed and we had no reservation so we waited 10 minutes or so before being seated at the bar - the wait for a table was far longer.
The server at the bar was friendly and right away we got water and good bread that came with schmaltz rather than butter. My wife ordered the Captains Cutlet while I had the duck, both of which came with soup, starch she had dumplings while I had fries and three very tasty side sal. The portions were large, delicious and very good value for the price. We were way too full to try any dessert. We would go back but would make a reservation first! My parents are of Polish decent, so we chose this place to celebrate their anniversary based on reviews.
The restaurant decor is very inviting. The meals, prepared more like dishes from southern Poland were a little different than what we are used to, but the food was very good and the portions were large. The service was a little slow, but were were there at an odd time - between lunch and dinner.
We didn't mind waiting. It's a place to sit back, relax and enjoy. There was 12 of us and all our meals were served hot. No one left hungry!
From great friendly service to authentic polish delicious food, we couldn't have asked for a better dinner. My absolute favorite are of course pierogi, but my husband got a great dish of Hungarian stew on a potato pancake which was great as well.
